Emiko & KiriSute Gomen
The members of the band come (or return) from Japan and the heart of their music rests on the mixture of minyo (traditional Japanese popular song) and west-coast rock n' roll, by also allowing itself the appropriation of themes of music of films or Japanese pop songs of the 60’s, offering to Emiko Ota all the freedom to exercise its nature of «musician-chameleon».
With each piece, the group makes an arrangement in a style that is unique to it. It is a matter, while showing a deep respect for the minyo performed, to appropriate the deep components, and to confront them with contemporary Western music. The approach is similar to what makes the specificity of Japanese culture since its History, the search for a balance between the strength of tradition and the influence of the Western world. With Emiko & KiriSute Gomen, this evolution takes place in direct contact with him in France.
The band’s first album, Shyohatto, was released in September 2013. Cliquez ici pour modifier un élément..

Emiko & KiriSute Gomen
